Another loss: a doctor who worked in Kaunas died of COVID-19

Another painful loss: Gintaras Kašėta, a family doctor working in Kaunas, died of coronavirus, reports delfi.lt.

The doctor worked at Kaunas Panemunė Nursing and Supportive Care Hospital. The doctor is said to have died without receiving COVID-19.

We remind you that this is not the only death in the country of a doctor who lost the fight against this insidious disease on Friday. After prolonged unsuccessful treatment, the coronavirus also reached Ignas Mėlynis, a longtime general practitioner at the Krekenava outpatient clinic.

On Thursday, Klaip Seada Seamen’s Hospital announced that cardiologist Vytautas Vasiliauskas, who had turned 63, had died of coronavirus, and Klaip Hospitalda Republican Hospital reported that Vyacheslav Cepajev, an employee of the psychiatry branch, had also lost the fight against the virus.

In total, on 28 January, four deaths of doctors from the Klaipėda region were reported. The Lithuanian Association of Nurse Specialists previously announced that nurses from the Klaipėda region Irena Kontrimienė and Sigita Januškienė had died from the virus.
