The record is spreading

Information is spreading on social media that after a second vaccination at Marijampolė Hospital, a group of doctors and nurses parted ways. As the spreadsheet says, one nurse’s hand is swollen, the other doctors have a fever.

The file states that “even the ocularists” were called to work in the Covid-19 unit due to a shortage of personnel.

It is said that the information was given to the author of the record by a source that cannot be named, because naming him can harm him.

“Well dear ones, I am aware of Marijampolė, many doctors and nurses fell from the hospital after the second vaccination, with one hand swollen, the other with temperatures, etc.

The fact that even ophthalmologists work in the covid section is a total joke. One of the doctors said that he explained to the authorities that these vaccines are chemically based and there will be problems, but … The town is small, it will sound in a couple of days …

And you know what? I don’t feel sorry for them at all, they had a choice to choose what they chose.

Drive that on yourself shit and besides, you can’t fight for yourself, so … show must go on“, – the entry says.

There were people who were sick

The portal tv3.lt contacted the Marijampolė Hospital. Laima Šiupienytė, head of the institution’s infection control department, says the hospital has received reports of adverse reactions to the vaccine.

According to L. Šiupienytė, people should notify the Division of Infection Control or the State Agency for Drug Control.

After the first vaccination, the Infection Control Unit received 3 reports of adverse reactions and after the second vaccination 18.

“It is likely that there have been more adverse reactions, especially after the second vaccination, but the staff did not report them to us (nor did they report them directly to the State Drug Control Agency), so we are not aware of them.” says L. Šiupienytė.

According to the representative of the Marijampolė Hospital, all the reactions were related to fever, pain in the arm, general malaise and were of short duration, elapsed after 1-2 days.

“Even so, considering this number with full vaccination coverage, adverse reactions would only be a small percentage. Right now, to my knowledge, all vaccinated employees are doing well, ”says L. Šiupienytė about the situation.

The portal tv3.lt has previously reported that certain reactions of the body to the vaccine are normal.

Section Covid-19 – various doctors

The file indicates that the ophthalmologists were transferred to the Covid-19 ward. Marijampolė Hospital says that Covid-19 wards often employ doctors from various specialties.

“As in all of Lithuania, in our hospital to these departments according to the order of the Republic of Lithuania SAM no. 281’s work uses not only internal medicine doctors, but also doctors from other specialties. This process has been going on since the beginning of the pandemic and there has certainly been no increased need for staff due to adverse reactions to vaccines.

On the contrary, the number of employees with covid-19 disease or those who need to be isolated due to contacts has decreased significantly in the last month; We only have 10 employees from 54 to 50 permanently ill in December ”, comments L. Šiupienytė.

The hospital representative also informs that no hospital staff has been or is required to be vaccinated.

“Those who disagree are not subject to any restrictions and reasons for disagreement are not explained. We try to provide skeptics with arguments based on scientific knowledge, which are significantly different from conspiracy theories in the social space ”, says L. Šiupienytė.

A total of 473 employees have been vaccinated against Covid-19 at the Marijampolė Hospital, 332 of whom have already received two doses of the vaccine. A total of 845 vaccinations, vaccinated and ambulance staff, hospital hemodialysis patients, and nursing and supportive care patients were administered at the hospital.

A total of 181 employees of the Marijampolė Hospital have been ill with Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic, 171 have recovered, so ten employees are currently ill.
