In Bristol, protesters dumped a statue of a slave dealer into the river

On Sunday, June 7, people protesting racism in Bristol toppled the 17th century. a statue of slave trader Edward Colston and thrown into the river. Thousands of people in the UK are protesting the murder of George Floyd.

In London, thousands of protesters gathered at the United States Embassy to condemn police brutality after the Floyd murder in Minneapolis. Some of them wore protective masks labeled “Racism is a virus.”

Protests in the UK so far are relatively peaceful, but 27 policemen were injured during last week’s protests in central London, London Police Chief Cressida Dick said.

12 people were arrested during ongoing protests in London in solidarity with the United States’ Black Lives Matter movement, police said Sunday night.

According to a London police statement, most of these people have been arrested for breach of public order.

In Seattle’s Washington state, a man pointed his car at an anti-racist protest Sunday night, then jumped out of the vehicle and shot one of the protesters with a pistol, authorities said.

An anti-racist demonstration, Black Lives Matter, took place in a riot in the Belgian capital on a Sunday night.

The protest drew about 10,000. people, mostly expats from Africa.

The peaceful demonstration soon turned into riots, with rioters severely damaging several police cars, police officers throwing bottles and stones, smashing shop windows and looting them.

A water cannon was used to suffocate the rioters, and a police helicopter flew over them to control the situation.
