At his colleague’s grave, Dapšys recalled Girdvainis’s love story, which was not told to anyone, but was deeply trapped.

G. Girdvainis’ last journey of brilliant memories from the stage of the Little Theater of Vilnius to the Hill of the Artists in the Antakalnis Cemetery was accompanied not only by tears or sensitive thoughts, but also by loud applause along Gediminas Avenue.

Dozens of theater and film actors, including Nijolė Narmontaitė, Vytautas Rumšas Jr., Gintarė Latvėnaitė, Kirilas Glušajevas, Leonardas Pobedonoscevas, Larisa Kalpokaitė, Tadas Gryn, Kristina Kazlauskaitė and others, came to say “goodbye” to their colleagues.

Just before taking out the urn, the audience saw G. Girdvainis’s changing photos of theater and personal life. The white-flowered flowers were soaked in vases, which mourners brought to bid farewell.

The car and a large crowd moved through the streets of Vilnius. Participants went to the Antakalnis cemetery to say the last “goodbye”.

“Gediminas, I did not plan, I did not expect our last conversation to be like this. I will speak, and you will see, listen or not,” Arvydas Dapšys began his speech at his friend’s grave.

“I was asked on television if Gediminas and I had known each other for a long time. Spontaneously, the first thought was that it wasn’t long, after all, he had lived long before me, then I realized that we had been connected for more of a decade. And I didn’t even feel it.

It is difficult to write words. No one expected it and no one expected it. I mean briefly. When I remember you, it seems to me that it is the most important thing, that a word is love. There were many of you. She didn’t go anywhere, she’s all around us. He was probably not an unnecessarily accidental witness to your wife’s confession of love to your wife Kristina.

Maybe someone didn’t hear what I’m going to say right away because I didn’t tell anyone. Once we were traveling from the tour bus, it was night. It was one of the difficult trips. I hardly sleep in that, Gediminas fell asleep, fell asleep. He began to speak while he slept, at first one word was heard and then another. Suddenly he says loud and clear: “Kristina! Our love is so high! For me, it got stuck. He had a lot of that love. And stop, and then, and right here. She never went scatteredSentimental She was always accumulated, love was with respect. <...>

I really want to sympathize with everyone, the family, especially her granddaughter, whom she loved very much. It is said that after this pandemic, after this quarantine, we will no longer live as before. We will live differently. And loved ones will have to live differently. It just seems to me that Gediminas’ love will no longer belong to you alone, you will share it with us because his embrace was so wide! It seems to me that they will be enough for all of us, “the actor concluded with sensitivity.

Not only A. Dapšys, but also Larisa Kalpokaitė and her relatives shared their memories of G. Girdvainis on the artists’ hill near the grave. Wishing eternal rest, those gathered accompanied the actors with common prayers.
