Last spring, the Anykščiai district media described a considerable conflict: Mayor S.Obelevičius fiercely criticized the director of Anykščiai Hospital A.Vasiliauskas, who was hired by the former district mayor Kęstutis Tubis.
The mayor made much criticism of the latter in the local press for failing to fulfill his duties, so at the May 28 meeting of the Anykščiai District Council, A. Vasiliauskas was finally dismissed at his own request.
“It just came to our knowledge then. But as you know, this pressure started from day one”, – A.Vasiliauskas did not hide in the remote council meeting.
At the same meeting, D. Vaiginas, who was then an advisor to Mayor S. Obelevičius, was appointed temporary director of the hospital.
According to the local press, D. Vaiginas held the position of director of Anykščiai Hospital for almost two decades and lost his position when K. Tubis became mayor.
The competition promises later

On Tuesday, the district mayor S.Obelevičius 15 minutes he acknowledged that the contest had certainly not yet been announced.
“The competition will be, but right now it is such a tense situation that we think it is better to wait a bit for the same horror until at least the hospital chimney runs out, then we will announce it,” he assured him. “It’s not because it’s something different.”
Asked about when to expect the contest, the mayor said that the district doctors had already received the first vaccines, some of them were sick:
“As soon as the chimney runs out, I think in mid-February or early March, we will announce it. All the documents are ready, we’re just kidding, because I don’t want to create so much confusion yet.”
