Interior Minister Agnė Bilotaitė plans to present these proposals to the government to ease the quarantine following the decisions of the State Commission for Emergency Situations on Tuesday.
According to the Ministry, these children would have the opportunity to study at a distance in schools, would receive the necessary means to do so, and those who have them – free meals.
According to the Ministry, additional consultations, motivation or provision of equipment and Internet are needed for around 25 thousand. about half of the country’s students, about half of them receive free meals.
It is also proposed to legalize the so-called “social bubbles”, allowing two families or households to communicate when they are not made up of more than one person or when there is a minor or a disabled adult in need of disability care.
It should be noted that those close family members or household members would be prohibited from having close contact with other people at work and elsewhere.
The quarantine for the spread of the coronavirus in Lithuania was announced on November 7 of last year, and from December 16 its regime was hardened and extended until January 31.
Currently, many stores, sports and leisure venues are closed in the country, the movement of people between municipalities and meetings both at home and in public places is restricted.
