He said that he had noticed from afar that the catch was of an unusual size.
“We fish with experienced guides with a boat and several rods. When I started to tow my catch, I realized there was something unusual: not actually a standard 4-5 kg fish, but a much more solid fish. Fishing rods even began to be woven, and the experienced guide was only able to catch this salmon from the third time. I admit it, several times I thought that I would have to say goodbye to this fish without even taking it out, I was afraid that the silkworm would break … ”, said the Klaipėda resident.
According to him, so far the largest catch this season in the Baltic Sea in Lithuania is recorded among fishermen – 14.8 kg.

I didn’t record my salmon pulled for a record. I just uploaded a photo to Facebook, happy with the capture and such. Others began to write that they had also caught larger fish. Yes, it is really possible to take larger salmon and other fish outside of Lithuania. I took a 32kg skateboard off the coast of Africa a few years ago, and I also have some pretty big sharks caught, but catching 15kg of salmon off the Baltic coast is something I have. I will hardly ever be that lucky in life, so I called it: “The fish of my life.” I have heard that other fishermen have caught about 20 kg of salmon in the Baltic Sea and Lithuanian rivers, but these cases are very rare, ”said the amateur fisherman.
He claimed that he has been engaged in this pleasure and hobby of life since childhood, but until now he used to fish more frequently in spring in the Nemunas and its delta.
“I fished in the Baltic Sea for only the fifth time and I was still hoping to catch up to 10 kg of fish, but I had to be disappointed. And finally, January 2021 brought me success. The feeling is unique. Now there is even greater excitement and intrigue. for fishing in the Baltic Sea ”, emphasized the Klaipėda resident.
