“It just came to our attention then. The number is still really high. Of course, not as much as we recorded at the beginning of the month and at the end of the month, it is a really improved situation, but it is difficult to assess, because I would like to feel safe. The situation is stable, but the number of deaths remains high, ”NVSC representative Austina Vžesniauskaitė told Eltai on Saturday.

According to her, the complicated situation is registered in nursing homes, hospitals, cases of illness in companies.
According to a representative of the NVSC, the proportion of cases in which the circumstances of the infection are unknown is similar to that of always, since some people cannot remember where the infection may have occurred.

“He says maybe public transportation, maybe in shopping malls, but we really can’t be sure it’s there because people can’t name it themselves, we trust what they say. If people can’t name it, the case is still unknown, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t unexplored. Other processes are carried out to isolate people who have been in contact with that person. This is how the spread of the virus is controlled, ”said A. Vžesniauskaitė.

In Lithuania, after testing 9,540 samples last day, 1122 people were confirmed to be infected with coronavirus, the Statistics Department reported on Saturday. Since the start of the pandemic, the total number of COVID-19 infections in the country is currently 166,680.

In the last day, 28 people died from COVID-19 and another 10 people with an earlier date of death from coronavirus infection were registered.
