For the second time in his coaching career, Rimas Kurtinaitis leaves the Chimki club in the Moscow region.

24sek.lt journalist Donatas Urbonas announces that the 60-year-old Lithuanian will no longer lead the Chimki club as head coach.

“24sek.lt” also announces that assistant coach Andrejus Malcevas will temporarily occupy the head coach position and that Aurimas Jasilionis and Aleksandras Trifunovičius will remain in the team.

Kurtinaitis leaves after Chimki’s biggest defeat in club history, when local Anadolu Efes landed in Istanbul 60:99.

It was the club’s twelfth consecutive defeat in the Euroleague.

Kurtinaitis Chimki has been training since January 2019, when he took command of the team from Georgis Bartzok.

The first stage of Kurtinaitis “Chimki” started in 2011 and lasted until 2016.

Chimki is an absolute outsider in the Euroleague with 2 wins and 18 losses.
