According to the witness, the soldier was immediately transferred to a medical point in Pabradė.

That night, Justin V. was tasked with the duties of a patrol base guard: he had to control the road.

After examining the substances found with Justin V., experts discovered that he was not only carrying cannabis, but also a tablet that contained the psychoactive substance MDMA.

The recruit was prosecuted for illegal possession of small amounts of drugs during his service.

During the pre-trial investigation, Justinas V. told officials that she began serving in the Lithuanian Armed Forces in 2019 on December 2 and ended on September 2.

“During service in the army from August 7-9. They sent me home for the weekend, “said Justinas V.” Therefore, the first night I went to the alternative music festival “Yaga” near Naujoji Valkininkai village. This time, the soldier decided to take the drugs to the Pabradė landfill in the Švenčionys district, where the exercises were carried out.

“The platoon commander assigned tasks to the recruits, I had to be on duty with three more soldiers, but I offered to be on duty one by one and change every hour,” said Justin V. that the idea came to him because he wanted to secretly smoke “weed”. – While I was smoking, I smoked a roulette and I felt very bad, I was afraid that something would happen soon, so I decided to go back to the patrol base and fall asleep – I thought I would feel bad. I lay down, as I thought, in my place at the patrol base, but it turns out that I lay down next to my unit commander. I know I said something to him, but I don’t remember exactly how he was intoxicated by the “weed”. That same night, they took me to a medical point where a urine test for drug use was performed. During interrogation, the recruit admitted that he had smoked “weed” about 4 or 5 times before, and that he had not tried psychotropic pills and did not even know what to do with them.

“I sincerely regret my behavior, it will not happen again in the future,” said the soldier, who has now completed his service.

The criminal case against Justin V. was examined by the court in a written procedure.

“There was enough objective evidence in the case to confirm that the defendant had illegally disposed of a small amount of drugs without the intention of selling or distributing them,” said Judge Nijolė Lisauskienė, who evaluated the data collected during the pre-trial investigation.

When imposing the sentence, the court took into account that the soldier confessed to having committed a crime and sincerely regrets having been tried for the first time, has been satisfactorily characterized during compulsory military service, and is currently working.

“There are reasons to impose a fine on the accused closer to the minimum fine provided for the crime,” ordered judge Justin V. to pay 800 euros to the state budget within four months.
