A young man faces life in prison for a particularly brutal murder

Pre-trial investigation in Vilnius County. in the Chief Police Commissariat was launched in 2020. On September 17, around 2:25 p.m., in the village of Gratiškės, Trakai district, in the courtyard of a house, the body of a dead man (born 1965 ) with multiple strokes.

At the scene, it was found that the man had been killed by giving him numerous blows with a hammer, bricks and other objects with a hard and blunt surface on various parts of the body. It was also found that the crime was allegedly committed by the murderer’s cohabiting son. Before the arrival of the officers, the suspect had already managed to hide, reports the Vilnius County Police.

Criminalists rushed to locate the suspect and detained the murder suspect (born 1991). He was given a report on the suspicion of murder of a defenseless person with extreme cruelty (Article 129, paragraph 2, Article 2, Article 6 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania).

Until the trial, the accused is arrested and sentenced to the most severe warrant of arrest. This crime is punishable by up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
