Dakar SS7 speed section forecast
From Hail, which the Dakar participants had already visited last year, they are turning in a new direction, towards Sakaka. During the marathon, the athletes will have to save their vehicles from the start to protect the cars from incidents and the engines from overheating.
On the first day of the rally marathon, the rally director D.Castera is divided into three parts. The first, about 100 km, with a lot of sand and dunes. The race in such difficult conditions will run almost without interruption. Therefore, Castera advises runners to control the amount of fuel in the tanks so that there is no shortage, as it will not be easy in the sand.
Then the race in the valley, which is quite insidious and full of rocks. And the third part, pretty fast. A series of rocky plateaus and a mixture of winding and fast sections should be used with caution, as at the Sakaka bivouac, as we have already mentioned, the runners will not have technical assistance.
“The Sakaka bivouac will be special, not everyone will enter, the service team personnel will not be admitted, so they will have to solve all the problems themselves,” Castera warned.
The organizers point out that in the seventh speed section, the participants will have the following coverage: 48 percent. soil, 41 percent. sand and 11 percent. dunes.
