E. Juškauskas did not overemphasize other misunderstandings. Depending on the runner, many participants experience more or fewer incidents at each stage.

“These adventures are common in a rally marathon. The most important thing was that there were no more serious consequences, we continued driving, we did not even lose a lot of time because of that,” said the athlete.

The car suffers from stones

According to E. Juškauskas, the surprising results for the fans were determined by the fact that the crew has avoided major mistakes so far. He also advised not to be happy with the team’s achievements yet, as everything can be lost on the Dakar one kilometer before the finish.

The pilot assured that although it does not resemble the rhythm, they race with A. Paliukėnas very carefully. The car isn’t particularly broken either, but on rocky sections it’s just not possible to get around all the rocks, so they fall between the wheels, hitting the bottom, and clogging suspension details.

“Driving through rocks also determines success, success or not. The organizers promised that there would be no rocks at all in the sixth speed section, but they really were and even while driving we were able to break the tire carefully enough,” taught E. Juškauskas.

During marathon days, runners promise to slow down. Knowing that they will have to take care of the car on their own after the finish line with just a small tool kit and as many spare parts as can fit inside the Toyota Hilux, the athletes are going to be extremely careful.
