The Euroleague issued a statement acknowledging the referee’s mistake in the last seconds of the match between Olympiacos Piraeus and Bayern Munich.
With 3 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, OLY led (84:82), but Bayern had the ball in their hands. The latter team’s forward Paul Zipser attacked the basket from the three-point zone and was unduly stopped by Alexander Vezenkov, but the referees did not see the foul.
The Euroleague admitted that the referees made a mistake by not scoring a foul that would have allowed P. Zipseris to shoot 3 free throws.
The party was led by Matejus Boltauzeris, Milivoje Jovčičius and Igoris Dragojevičius.
