There are still five people considered missing.
The tragedy occurred early Wednesday morning when a landslide destroyed houses and moved several hundred meters 25 kilometers northeast of Oslo in the village of Asko.
“Another dead man was found shortly before six in the morning,” said a police report.
The body of the fourth dead person was found on Saturday. Three bodies were detected the day before. Police identified the first victim on Saturday: Eirik Gronolen, 31. The identities of the other four people have yet to be announced.
On Friday, local police published a list of a total of eight adults and children between the ages of two and 13 who are considered missing. Ten people were affected by the disaster, including one seriously injured person who was transferred to Oslo for treatment.
In total, about a thousand people out of every 5,000. the locals were evacuated fearing for their safety while the ground was still in motion. Rescuers try to find survivors with dogs and using helicopters and drones.
Experts say the landslide occurred when some 300 to 800 meters of clay were soaked. In the area where Asc is found, there are abundant stocks of floating clay, which under certain conditions can convert from a solid material to a semi-liquid mass.
Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Sulberg has called the tragedy one of the largest landslides in the country’s history. The Royal Palace announced that King Harald, Queen Sonia and the heir to the throne Haakon were to visit the disaster site on Sunday.
