After the contest “My Christmas tree 2020” announced at the beginning of December, it became clear that the Christmas tree of the city of Šiauliai in the country is the most beautiful, original and best reflects his idea. The decision was made after more than a few weeks of projection on the ltdiena.lt portal, live battles and several thousand votes from viewers.
The organizers received up to 138 proposals for which urban spruces should participate in the contest. After long discussions with the partners, 10 Christmas trees were selected: from Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Utena, Šiauliai, Panevėžys, Radviliškis, Elektrėnai, Širvintos and Trakai.
Spruce from Šiauliai, Panevėžys and Klaipėda reached the final. In the final, Klaipėda Green War behind Panevėžys and Šiauliai, but the tension between these two cities remained until the last minute. After counting the results, it was announced that Šiauliai took the title of winner of the contest “My Christmas tree 2020”, and the green army of the city obtained 1,724 votes.
Vilnius fir was fourth, Kaunas fifth.
