78 people died from COVID-19 last day, ranging in age from 50 to 99, according to data released by Statistics Lithuania on Tuesday.

Most of the dead are elderly.

33 people were between 80 and 89 years old, 20 were between 70 and 79 years old, 14 were between 60 and 69 years old and nine were between 90 and 99 years old.

One of the deceased belonged to the age group of 50 to 59 years, and another person who died the day before was between 40 and 49 years old.

After 18 deaths, it was recorded in Kaunas and Vilnius, 13 in Telšiai, seven in Šiauliai and Tauragė, four in Klaipėda, Panevėžys and Utena, two in Marijampolė and one in Alytus counties.
