Two men linked to the theft of this car have also been arrested.
Officials found not only the stolen car, but also three possibly gas firearms that were being held without permission. The weapons are currently being seized, an investigation is underway, after which a decision will be made on whether to initiate a pre-trial investigation.
At the same time, various tools (electronic starter, circuit breakers, etc.) were found that can be used to commit car thefts.
In the past, a Kaunas resident (born in 1982) and another not previously convicted, as well as a Kaunas city resident (born in 1962) have been arrested for various crimes: robbery, violence, violations of public order, narcotics . After questioning the individuals, a decision will be made on the imposition of preventive detention measures.
A pre-trial investigation into the theft was launched. Theft of high-value foreign property is punishable by up to 8 years in prison.
The pre-trial investigation is conducted by officers from the Property Crimes Investigation Board of the Kaunas County Criminal Police. The investigation is organized and led by prosecutors from the 6th Division of the Kaunas District Prosecutor’s Office of the Kaunas Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
