The incident took place in a medical center in Stralsund. When the error came to light, seven women and one man were sent home. Later, as a precaution, four of them were hospitalized for follow-up because they developed flu-like symptoms.

According to local authorities, according to BioNTech, during the first phase of clinical trials, volunteers received slightly higher doses (up to 100 micrograms) and no serious complications were observed. The usual dose is 30 micrograms.

In Germany, as in many other EU countries, the coronavirus vaccination campaign officially began on Sunday, although the first vaccinations were given on December 26.
