People ages 30 to 99 died of COVID-19

Last day, 23 deaths from coronavirus were recorded in Lithuania, people aged 30 to 99 died, the Department of Statistics reported on Saturday.

One deceased was between 30 and 39 years old, and two people over 40 and one over 50 died from COVID-19. Three more deaths belonged to the age group 60 to 69 years, mostly, that is, seven deaths corresponded to the age groups 70 to 79 and 80 to 89 years. Two dead were over 90 years old.

The highest number of deaths per day was recorded in Šiauliai county, five in Kaunas county, three in Telšiai, two in Klaipėda, Utena, Marijampolė and Vilnius counties, and one in Alytus county.

A total of 1,228 people died from COVID-19 and another 607 people died from other causes.

According to the Department of Statistics, most of the deaths so far belonged to the age group 80 to 89 years: 453 of them died and another 327 deaths were older than 70 years.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases is 128,000. 931, of which 61 thousand. 345 recovered, 65 thousand. 751 – tebeserga.

According to data provided by the Department of Statistics on Saturday morning, 368 people recovered last day. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 128,931 people have been infected by COVID-19, 65,751 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection, and 61,345 have recovered.

The country’s hospitals are treating 2,300 COVID-19 patients, 194 of them in resuscitation, Statistics Lithuania said Saturday.

Oxygen is required for 1362 patients, artificial lung ventilation – 170.

At present, 6,991 of 16,624 beds are occupied in hospitals and 414 of 684 resuscitation beds are occupied. Of the 635 beds in which artificial lung ventilation can be used, 286 are occupied. 2,112 of the 6,390 beds with oxygen supply are also occupied.

The government extended the quarantine until January 31. and it toughened its measures: prohibit circulation within or outside the municipality of residence for unnecessary reasons, close stores other than food, prohibit the provision of contact services, prohibit events and public meetings.
