Around 8 pm 54 min. The house fire on 15 Žardiningų street was reported at the general emergency center at emergency number 112. Witnesses said they saw flames roaring from the apartment on the ninth floor.
The fire broke out in an apartment on the seventh floor. The seventy-year-old apartment resident was able to call the fire department herself. He managed to get out of the burning room onto the balcony. Upon arrival, firefighters lowered her safely and handed her over to medics.

Another resident was taken from the apartment. The older man reportedly moved with difficulty. Needed help. The couple was handed over to the doctors who arrived.
The cause of the fire is still being clarified. Around 10 pm firefighters were still working at the scene.
The fire and rescue forces of the Klaipėda Fire and Rescue Board were dispatched to the scene (information about the incident was handed over to the Klaipėda Ambulance Station).
