Collectives of national and state institutions on June 1. performed about 15 minutes of concerts in public spaces in squares, squares or parks of cities and towns, on the roofs of administrative and cultural institutions.

The people gathered in the Cathedral Square were delighted with the performance of the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra. Their leader, maestro Gintaras Rinkevičius, assured that musicians simply cannot afford not to play, so for them, this day has become a true celebration, which means a return to life.

In the courtyard of the Palace of the Rulers, the well-known opera arias were performed by soloists Julija Stupnianek (soprano) and Eugenijus Chrebtovas (baritone), accompanied by pianists Lina Giedraitytė and Olga Eleonora Taškinaitė. The program included the Dalia aria from the opera “Dalia” by Balis Dvarionas, the Udris aria from the opera “Pilėnai” by Vytautas Klova and the Erdvilis aria from the opera “Lithuanians” by the Italian composer Amilcare Ponchielli.

The wind ensemble of the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra “Brass” could be heard at the Lithuanian National Philharmonic, and the works performed by the state choir “Vilnius” sounded alongside the Martynas Mažvydas National Library.

More than 340 groups had registered for the campaign, which was started by the Government and implemented together with the municipalities.
