M.Adomėnas, E.Meilūnas, A.Pranckevičius are appointed Vice Ministers of Foreign Affairs

Inga Černiuk, Deputy Director of the Property Bank, Chancellor of the Ministries of Transport and Energy, is appointed Chancellor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

M.Adomnas was a member of the Seimas in 2008-2020, but this year he lost the elections in the single-member electoral district of Raudondvaris.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during his parliamentary political career he worked in education, culture, foreign policy and “paid much attention to the development of freedom and democracy in Sakartvele, Belarus, Ukraine, East Asia.”

From 2000 to 2018, M.Adomnas was a member of the Union of the Homeland-Lithuanian Christian Democrats. In June of that year, the Party Supervisory Committee removed him from the party for inappropriate links with the MG Baltic company.

For the last four years, A. Pranckevičius has headed the European Commission Representation in Lithuania. Before that, he worked as an adviser to President Valdas Adamkus and as a diplomatic adviser to the Presidents of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek and Martin Schulz.

E. Meilūnas is a former Lithuanian ambassador to Poland, Japan and Ireland. He has also previously served as Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The cabinet of Minister G. Landsbergis will be headed by Ambassador Algimantas Rimkūnas, and the spokesperson will be Vytautė Šmaižytė.
