According to him, during the first two days of the stricter quarantine, since Wednesday, more than 600 vehicles turned around and were not allowed to go to their destination.
“The biggest flows were on Wednesday, they are decreasing a bit. Perhaps the exception now is when there are peak hours when people return from work. We expect traffic to decrease on Saturdays and Sundays. So far, the dynamics of the movement can say (that people have listened to the rules – aut.p.) “, – R. Požėla said at one of the checkpoints established within the limits of the Vilnius city municipality.
According to the Commissioner General, most of the cars have been asked to return to Palanga, where a special plan has been drawn up with stationary positions in operation from Wednesday.
However, Požėla was pleased with the citizens’ conscience, as most of them, the commissioner said, have documents that support the purpose of the trip.

He warned those who plan to avoid the check
R. Požėla warned those who plan to cheat: there are penalties for it.
“I want to immediately address those who plan to do this: there will be no tolerance in this place, the rules of the game are clear to everyone: there are points we have to go through, we have to argue. Those who try to cheat will definitely receive prizes Christmas police from 500 euros, “said R. Požėla.
Speaking of the migrants who returned to the country, he assured that the officials will follow the criteria of reasonableness and allow them to go to their current place of residence.
The Commissioner General of Police also stressed that public transport that crosses municipal borders will also be inspected.
“We will record possible infractions, each situation will be individual. (…) I very much hope that those who drive buses have heard our message, read the Government’s resolution and there are no problems with them. There may be a situation in which we will not allow them to continue.” said R. Požėla.
You will use video surveillance tools, tripods.
When asked to evaluate the groups created by the population on the Internet, where advice is shared on how to avoid police control, R. Požėla stated that it is “everyday life in Lithuania”.
“We have a lot of different groups in those groups, where information on tripods and police equipment is shared. Nothing new, but there will be no way to fool the police here, we don’t need to fool ourselves. In this way, he will deceive himself and his family members, ”said the commissioner.
According to him, the police will use private video surveillance and all available technical means, including so-called tripods.
“We see that in addition to the police officers, there are also our social partners: shooters and agents from other services. I want to be glad that we are a great family, a fist. I believe that our capabilities will allow us to guarantee all functions, including people monitoring in cities, ”added R. Požėla.
It was previously reported that, under the new government decree on restrictions to the quarantine regime, the police will organize stationary checkpoints in all municipalities and will control incoming vehicles. There are 250 checkpoints in the country.
