In Utena, the hospital director also asked for almost double the salary, which does not seem to come into direct contact with coronavirus patients.
For the LNK news, Marijus Kaukėnas, a member of the Utena Council, emphasized that doctors who deal directly with coronavirus patients receive supplements to their salaries.
According to the opposition, the salary of the hospital director had already been raised in the spring. And now the director asks for an additional salary supplement of 90 percent.

“If the president receives such a small salary, it is very bad. I will repeat, it is very bad, “said the director of the Utena Hospital.
Utena Mayor Alvydas Katinas says the hospital director deserves double salary.

Coronavirus patients are also treated at the Molėtai Hospital near Utena. According to him, coronavirus departments employ 20 doctors, all of whom receive a 100 percent salary supplement.
And the director of the Utena Hospital says he also cares for coronavirus patients. But the supplement itself asked for less than the doctors: 70 percent.
The Utena City Council will decide in the near future whether the salary of a hospital director who does not come into direct contact with bovine patients will almost double.
For some people at Utena, such salaries are completely incomprehensible. The director of the Utena Polyclinic also requested a solid supplement to the salary, but after discussions, the request was withdrawn.
