London Arsenal still can’t find the key to winning the English Premier League.
The Canoners had to admit Burnley’s 0: 1 advantage at home in Sunday’s 12th round game.
Arsenal controlled the game in the first half, but the guests also had a chance to score. Still, the first part of the match ended goalless.
The hosts fought their way through the middle and almost recovered when in the 58th minute, Granitas Xhaka had to leave the pitch with a knee injury.
After gaining a quantitative advantage, the Burnley footballers became more active and it paid off. In the 73rd minute, the visitors took a corner, after which Arsenal captain Pierre’as-Emerickas Aubameyang scored the ball.
The “Canoners” reactivated after the failed goal and had several opportunities to equalize the result, but the final whistle of the referee registered the minimal victory of the “Burnley”.
This was Arsenal’s third consecutive defeat in the Premier League.
In the next match, the Leicester City team took an easy victory, meeting Brighton’s resistance 3: 0 at home.
All the goals fell in the first half: James Maddison scored twice, Jamie Vardy sent the ball into goal.
Following this victory, the “foxes” are just one point behind the leading teams Tottenham and Liverpool.
