Team Kaunas “Žalgiris” (6/7) finally finished a series of six defeats in the Euroleague and out 81:69 (24:12, 19:21, 17:17, 21:19) broke the Panathinaikos club (4/8) in Athens.

For the Žalgiris team, this is only the second victory at the OAKA Stadium; the first was achieved two years ago.

“Žalgiris” further increased the lead (67:52), although he had to miss the opponent’s shot 8: 0, making the situation worse. Rokas Jokubaitis scored a free kick but Georgios Papagiannis kept Panathinaikos closer to their opponents – 67:72. With less than 3 minutes to go, Nigel Hayes took on an important job and the lead increased to 76:67. In the end, M. Grigonis’ triple became significant and brought Žalgiris closer to victory as the difference was in double digits and divided the teams by 10 points – 79:69. The people of Žalgiris did not announce the victory.
