During the night from Monday to Tuesday, Švenčionys Border Guard officers from the SBGS Vilnius Border Team patrolled in the vicinity of Jaciūnai village, Švenčionys district. Border guards noticed three men carrying a bundle in the forest near Lake Glušnia. This place is about a kilometer from the state border with Belarus.

Due to this incident, the officers of the SBGS Vilnius border team launched a pre-trial investigation led by the Prosecutor of the Vilnius Regional Prosecutor’s Office. After questioning, a Vilnius district resident was released through a preventive measure – a written promise not to leave. He faces a fine or a prison sentence of up to eight years.
