The new SpaceX Starship SN8 spacecraft (serial number 8) successfully lifted off at the company’s rocket launch base in Texas on Wednesday, but during landing, as soon as it touched, it exploded, seen on video.

Starship SN8 was by far the largest prototype of a new rocket, orbited by Mars, developed by Elon Musko’s SpaceX company. Its height is more than 120 meters, as much as 16 to draw home. Furthermore, it was equipped with up to 3 upgraded Raptor engines. So far, prototypes have only been tested with one of these engines.

The Starship Mnul and Mars are scheduled to carry at least 100 tons of cargo in the near future.

The flight was scheduled to test the reconditioned engines and reach 41,000 pd (12.5 km).

E. Muskas, on his Twitter account, immediately after the failed landing, said that the pressure in the rocket’s fuel tank was low, so the landing speed was too high.

According to him, SpaceX received all the necessary data during the test and rated the launch phase of the missile as successful.

SpaceX is trying to launch the Starship SN8 for the first time on Tuesday, but due to a problem with the engines, the automatic system stopped starting just a second before takeoff, Reuters adds.
