Before this ceremony, all the teams, according to the results of last season, divided into two baskets to form the quarterfinal pairs.
First car: “Žalgiris”, “Rytas”, “Lietkabelis”, “Neptūnas”.
Second car: Juventus, CBet, Pieno Žvaigždės, Šiauliai or Dzūkija.
Žalgiris and his opponent will form the first pair of the quarterfinals, Rytas the second, Lietkabelis the third and Neptūnas the fourth. In the semi-finals, the winners of the first pair will meet the winners of the fourth pair and the winners of the second pair will meet the winners of the third.
Two games will be played in the quarterfinals: the first will be played in the local stadiums of the second basketball teams and the second will be played in the teams of the first basketball teams. The team with the best ratio of lost points after two games will enter the Citadele KMT final four tournament.
Last year, the quarterfinals of the tournament looked like this: “Žalgiris” – “Šiauliai”, “Rytas” – “Juventus”, “Neptūnas” – “Dzūkija”, “Lietkabelis” – “Pienovaigždės”. For the Utena and Vilnius clubs, this was the fourth year in a row that both teams met in the quarterfinal stage, and this duel gave basketball fans more than one impressive moment. Perhaps the spells will unite fierce opponents this year as well?
The final four of the Citadele KMT will take place from February 13 to 14.
