On Thursday, SBGS officers detained a 42-year-old Utena resident who had flown in from the French capital Paris at the Vilnius airport. Border guards found their police-announced search in the same city nearly five years ago. Utena is accused of committing a crime.

Border guards took the passenger to the firewall facility and then handed him over to the convoy that arrived from the initiator of the search.

On the same day, at Vilnius airport, border guards verified the documents of people who had arrived from the British city of Birmingham. During the inspection, it was discovered that the 36-year-old resident of the Marijampolė district has problems with the police. Marijampolė police announced the search for a man convicted of a crime in 2019 in September.

Border guards informed the initiator of the search of the detainee’s arrest and soon handed over the Marijampolė to the police officers who arrived at the airport.

This year, a total of 1,708 people were arrested by SBGS agents, who were wanted by Lithuanian and foreign police institutions for various crimes and violations.
