“All I can say is that, to the greatest extent, I already see that it will not be approved,” the head of state told reporters on Friday.
“And how many surnames we will question, I cannot say today. Certainly it would not be very responsible, we have just started meetings with the candidates for ministers. At this moment, my answer would be this,” said the president.
The President declared that I. Šimonyte would be informed of inappropriate candidacies.
“We will certainly inform the Prime Minister before the list of these ministers is published. We do not want to announce the decision to all ministers at the same time, we will do so early next week. (…) More meetings have been scheduled for the Monday and Tuesday we will announce our decisions on specific ministers. I am not going to talk about a specific number, “said the head of state.
G. Nausėda stated that his advisers did not offer advisers to the candidates.
“There have been no suggestions, there could be no such thing to leave something, to use. We first ask the candidate himself if he has a team, if he doesn’t have one or if he has a vision for the team. (…) This is the most important thing for us. Everything else, I don’t know where it comes from, are treatments, doubts, conspiracy theories that have no foundation, ”said the President.
The President stated that not all the nominations submitted by Prime Minister I. Šimonytė had been coordinated with the Presidency. Therefore, this is a non-exhaustive list of ministers.
“Yes, they have been coordinated, some of the nominations did not appear on the list because we did not see any reason for them to be candidates for minister. However, we immediately agreed with the Prime Minister that this list, which had been brought in, was not final. These are not yet passports issued to ministers, they will have to pass the entire filter of our conversations. Because that is the duty of the presidential institution ”, assured G. Nausėda.
