“I’ll say what surprised me a lot … During the last term, we had the same process twice with President Grybauskaitė and President Nausėda: the submission of the ministers and everything else. From what I remember, both in the first and in the second case, the Prime Minister coordinated (with the President – ELTA) the candidates and then only announced them, “R. “It just came to our attention then. The candidates have already been announced, but have not yet been agreed. And this situation, as I understand it, is, in a sense, a pressure on the president. “There is a pressure that we will not dare to exert on either of the two leaders,” he said.
According to R. Karbauskis, all the ministers approved during the permanence of the “peasants” in power, except perhaps for one case, were agreed with the president.
“We just named the candidates when it was clear that they would be approved. There was, if I am not mistaken, only one case in which it was not like that ”, assured the leader of LVŽS.
I. Šimonytė made the list of ministerial candidates public before the President officially appointed her Prime Minister. Before the publication of this list, I. Šimonytė had met several times with President G. Naus severalda. According to the Presidency, the names on the list were discussed, and some of the candidates that were discussed by I. Šimonytė and the President during the meetings did not appear on the list of candidates.
