The condition of the shaft is still evaluated by specialists who must list the identified defect to estimate how much it would cost to repair the shaft. Information is also expected from the company that prepared the mine.
Until now, no one has admitted their mistakes, not the pool creator, not the developers. It is believed that without the court’s verdict, the works will not move as the agreement will require large funds.
There are two cases in court
The conflict situation is resolved by the Klaipėda Regional Court, where two accumulated cases are heard. How 15 minutes said the court representative Dovilė Saulėnienė, first of all, the Klaip ciudadda city municipality requested the court the obligation to eliminate the defects of the construction works. It is stated that there are many deficiencies and these must be eliminated by the contractor. The work was done by Axis Industries.
The latter petitioned the court for reimbursement of the amount of the guarantee that the municipality illegally received. The company claims that the defects are still being disputed and the funds cannot be used.
When signing the works contract with the contractor, the Klaipėda Municipality provided that the contractor would be obliged to provide a guarantee of elimination of defects after the completion of the works. It is a bank document according to which the funds of the guarantee fund can be used upon receipt of the notice of defects. The amount is 100,000 euros. The municipality has received these funds and has started to make them available.
According to D. Saulėnienė, according to the case data, the builder accepts only due to a partial defect. It is indicated that some of the defects may have been caused by improper operation. About 200 defects are named on the case.
The case came to court last year, but due to various incidents, its investigation has yet to begin. In April, the court ordered a complex examination of the construction of a special metal building. The specialists are asked to determine if the detected defects occurred due to the violation of the requirements of the design documentation or if the defects could have been identified during the delivery of the works to the client. The exam was supposed to take place in July, then postponed several times and is still ongoing.
Experts must also assess the issues associated with the dive shaft: whether the right metal is used for its production or whether the stainless steel meets certain standards specified in the project. It is assumed that the defects may have been caused by the wrong material used for the shaft.
Replacement of broken strings
Divers’ representatives on social media do not hide their disappointment that the municipality is delaying and not solving the problem after receiving the guarantee fund.

The dealer reported that there is a leak in the dive well, we do not yet have more accurate information. It is possible have the problem resolved with these funds. There are a number of post-construction defects that need to be removed. They are also the subject of litigation, where there is no doubt that there is a problem with the contractor. Consideration is being given to which defects to remove from guarantee, because it will not be enough to remove them all, ”said G.Dovidaitis.

Divers who were left without a dive shaft are diving in the Slengiai quarry near Klaipėda, weather permitting.

And the mine hasn’t been there in two years, it hasn’t been working since March. It has already been isolated and operated five times. The builder will go bankrupt for how long and the municipality will do nothing, “said one of the divers.

And for now, divers have to soak in about 10 degrees of warm water at Sleng Quarry. In the pool at the time, the workouts were done in much warmer water, at 28 degrees. Military divers also train here.
