ESO representative on data declaration and electricity payment: everything every Lithuanian resident needs to know

[ad_1]

As explained by Renaldas Radvila, Head of Services at ESO, the declaration and payment of the electricity used will remain practically unchanged: at the supplier, using its self-service system (if it has one); After logging into self-service on the ESO website; at physical service locations.

“By concluding a contract with a new supplier, it will be possible to declare electricity consumption or pay for services in the same way as before, but in a slightly different environment: on the new supplier’s website, other platforms created by him or terminals , boxes or post office ”, says R. Radvila

However, if you have used financial systems such as “One Account” until now, the interlocutor advises whether you should provide customer data to those platforms before concluding a contract with a provider.

The “cooperation with” One Account “takes place through the provider. Until now, the public provider has provided data to this platform, but following the liberalization of the electricity market, ESO will already provide this data directly to the providers themselves, who will decide whether to combine this data in common payment systems such as “Single Invoice.” Therefore, it is definitely worth asking the provider if it will be possible to continue paying through such systems after signing a contract with him “, says R. Radvila .

According to him, the question that is no less important for the neighbors is whether after choosing a new supplier it will be necessary to update the electricity meter and start recording the readings from scratch.

“With the entry into force of the new contract with the supplier, there will be no changes in the replacement of the meter or its readings. You will continue to have a single contract and will pay for it monthly. This means that you will receive the first invoice with the latest meter readings that you have declared and from there you will continue to declare the data according to the amount of electricity you consume ”, explains the ESO representative.

R. Radvila adds that when choosing an electricity supplier, consumers will also not need to install any additional equipment or bring cables.

“ESO will continue to own the power cables for the electricity meters and the electricity metering devices themselves, which will give all suppliers access to their equipment. Therefore, the neighbors do not have to worry that if they choose a supplier, they will do some installation, demolition or other work in their house ”, says the interlocutor.

However, the ESO representative remembers that before choosing a provider, residents have an obligation: overpayments, debts and other obligations must be settled with the previous provider.

This means that money does not “walk” between providers, so you have all the obligations to negotiate with the public provider. If you have any debt, the old provider will give you an invoice that you will have to pay only for him. If you have an overpayment, contact your provider to request a refund after the final payment, ”explains R. Radvila.
