“That conflict can be covered up and I have a plan on how to do it. I am talking to people from the factions,” V. Čmilytė-Nielsen told reporters at Seimas on Thursday.
According to the Statute of the Seimas, the Board of Directors of the Seimas is made up of the President of the Seimas, his deputies, six of whom now represent two of them, representing smaller opposition factions of the Seimas, and the leader of the opposition . The parties do not agree with him in any way.

If this continues to be the case, the president of the Seimas says she could find another deputy.
“The statute stipulates that a seventh deputy can be provided, which is certainly a possibility. This could be one of the solutions if we see that the opposition does not choose its leader in the near future,” said V. Čmilytė-Nielsen.
In announcing that he was resigning from the mandate of a member of the Seimas, R. Karbauskis expressed the hope that the rulers would come down and appoint a “peasant” Aušrinė Norkienė to the vice-presidents of the Seimas. His candidacy for this position was previously rejected by the Seimas.
When asked if his seventh deputy could be A. Norkienė, the Seimas president did not go into details.
“I am talking to the representatives of the political groups and I think a solution can really be found,” he replied.
R. Karbauskis assured that he would remain in the Seimas if he received such a request from the rulers. The latter do not intend to ask for it, and the president of the Seimas will not be in a great hurry with the situation.
“I’m not in a hurry until Tuesday.” It is very important to me that opposition groups feel valued and, most importantly, represented, “he said.
The politician described as unmotivated R. Karbauskis’s decision to leave the mandate of a member of the Seimas.
“The boiling point is not clear on which side, and I think that today the declaration of the Union of Peasants and Greens is not so completely justified and it really is a source of emotions, but, apparently, such a day,” commented V. Čmilytė -Nielsen.
See opportunities to agree
G. Landsbergis, the senior of the largest ruling faction in the Seimas, the Lithuanian Christian National-Democratic Union, did not begin to evaluate R. Karbauskis’s decision to resign from the parliamentary mandate.
He said there have been similar statements in the past.
“It just came to our knowledge then. If he stays at Seimas, it will be like before,” said the Conservative leader.
Commenting on R. Karbauskis’s idea that the decision will change if the rulers ask to stay, G.Landsbergis suggested not solving the problems of the “peasant” leader.
It seems to me that he lets each one solve his own personal problems for himself.
“It seems to me that letting each one solve their own personal problems. And if we can discover that representation is fairer in all its forms, we are definitely ready to do it, ”he said.
When V. Čmilyte-Nielsen considered that perhaps the position of the seventh vice-president of the Seimas would reconcile the ruler and the opposition, G. Landsbergis first said that he did not want to call the situation a stir.
He explained that some politicians kept pouring kerosene on those fires every day.
“It just came to our knowledge then. But it seems to me that what the President of Seimas is saying, she really sees the way to go, she has full confidence from the coalition partners that she can better handle the situation,” he said.
According to G.Landsbergis, the only concern now is that the position of the opposition leader of the Seimas will not “materialize” at least in the near future.
Therefore, one can try to find ways for all parliamentary factions to be represented on the Junta del Seimas.
Could the “peasant” A.Norkienė be offered the post of vice-president of the Seimas again? Landsberg said he did not want to be attached to specific personalities.

“It just came to our notice then.” I don’t know if we want to go back to the same topic, “he said.
G. Landsbergis stated that he tried not to participate in the “burning kerosene embankment”, praising A. Norkienė.
The candidacy of A.Norkienė was rejected by the Seimas
This week, with the approval of the deputies of parliament, the Seimas rejected the candidacy of A. Norkienė proposed by the “peasants”. All other vice presidents nominated by other parties were approved.
After the rejection of the candidacy of A.Norkienė, the president of the Seimas V.Čmilytė-Nielsen introduced Julius Sabatauskas, representative of the opposition Social Democrats. During the first meeting Andrius Mazuronis, vice president of the opposition and representative of the “workers”, was elected.
The “peasants” who were left without their representative in the leadership of the Seimas promise to appear before the Constitutional Court because a large political group is in a worse position than a small group.
According to the Statute of the Seimas, the head of parliament cannot have more than seven deputies. However, the coalition partners agreed that there would be six of them; at least two of them must be representatives of the opposition.
The president of the Seimas, his deputies and the leader of the opposition form the Board of the Seimas, which decides on the organizational issues of the work of the Seimas and advises the president of the Seimas when he requests it.
