Infected from patients
According to Stasys Skauminas, director of Kėdainiai Hospital, the doctors got infected from the patients in the ward. Since the Traumatology and Surgical Departments are now relocated to the same facility, the doctors in the Department of Surgery are ill and the doctors in the Department of Traumatology are isolated.
“We closed because the staff has been infected. A total of 8 nurses and three surgeons. Some doctors have been isolated before, so next week we hope they can return and resume work.
We plan that the departments will return to work on November 26, ”said S. Skuminas.
Take you to Raseiniai
Kėdainiai Hospital has already agreed with the Kaunas clinics that patients will be transported to Raseiniai during this time. If you are injured, you can go directly to the reception of Raseiniai Hospital or call an ambulance.
“Urgent surgical and trauma assistance will be provided at Raseiniai Hospital. Everything is agreed and agreed with them. When the ambulance is called, it will take you directly to Raseiniai, ”reported the head of the hospital, adding that the situation is similar in Ukmergė: there the diseases were registered in the Department of Cardiology, so patients with heart problems are transported to Anykščiai.
“These exchanges are taking place: we are transporting combat patients from Jonava and Raseiniai, we are transporting trauma and surgical patients to Raseiniai,” said S. Skuminas.
Others work
The head of the hospital emphasized that other departments are working: gynecological, obstetric, cardiological and other assistance is provided.
“The obstetrics-gynecology department has fully resumed its activities, the doctors have returned from self-isolation and have been working since Monday, November 16,” said S. Skauminas.
He said that hospital doctors had in most cases relapsed to a mild form of coronavirus, and none of them had been hospitalized yet.
