Entrepreneur Gediminas Žiemelis revealed that in the near future, the Siemens Arena, which was acquired by his company DG21, will have a new name.
“Vilnius has the three most famous buildings: a castle, the largest shopping center and a sports stadium. One of them will soon be called ASG,” Žiemelis wrote on his Facebook page.
ASG stands for Avia Solutions Group.
This season, Vilnius Rytas is competing at the Siemens Arena, and next week the window of the selection stage of the European Championship will be held at this stadium, where the Lithuanian national team will play.
Žiemelis, one of the richest people in Lithuania, acquired the Vilnius Siemens and Panevėžys Cido sands and the companies that run them, as well as the ticket distribution company Tiketa.
15min.lt announced that the businessman will create a completely new basketball team in the capital.
In 2019, in the ranking of the 500 richest people in Lithuania compiled by Top magazine, Žiemelis was ranked third and its assets were valued at 630 million. euros.
