Presents four candidates for the Seimas

According to ELTA, Seimas president Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, who has two deputies, registered four draft resolutions on Tuesday, presenting four more candidates to the Seimas for the vacant post of vice president of Seimas.

They are Radvilė Morkūnaitė-Mikulėnienė and Paulius Saudargas, members of the Union of the Lithuanian Christian Democratic Homeland-Union (TS-LKD) ruler of the Seimas, Aušrinė Norkienė, member of the Lithuanian Peasant and Green Union faction opposition to the Seimas, and Vytautas M, a member of another ruling Freedom Faction.

The Seimas intends to decide on these nominations by secret ballot on Tuesday.

ELTA presents candidates for the position of Vice Presidents of the Seimas:
Member of Parliament Radvilė Morkūnaitė-Mikulėnienė is the first deputy elder of the National Union of Seimas-Lithuanian Christian Democrats.

2009-2014 R. Morkūnaitė-Mikulėnienė was a member of the European Parliament since 2016. – Member of the Seimas.

1984 Born in Kaunas, the MP with a higher university education graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater with a degree in Piano Art, and from the Vilnius Academy of Arts with a degree in Cultural and Political Management.

R. Morkūnaitė-Mikulėnienė – 2006–2007 was president of the Young Conservative League, since 2006. Member of the Council of the TS-LKD Party, since 2009. Member of the TS-LKD Presidium, since 2015. Vice-president of TS-LKD Gabrielius Landsbergis.

1979 Kaunas-born Member of Seimas Paulius Saudargas graduated from the Faculty of Physics at Vilnius University, studied experimental physics and has a master’s degree in Biophysics. 2007 P. Saudargas completed his doctoral studies at the Physics Institute of Vilnius University.

Mr. Saudargas has been elected to the Seimas since 2008.

P. Saudargas, a member of the Seimas TS-LKD faction, has been a member of the Lithuanian Rifle Union since 2015.

Aušrinė Norkienė, a member of the Lithuanian Green and Peasant Union faction in the Seimas, began his career as a member of the Seimas in 2016.

Aušrinė Norkienė, a 45-year-old pedagogue from Tauragė, has advanced university studies. 1996 she graduated from Šiauliai Pedagogical Institute, where she acquired the profession of music teacher and elementary school. 1998 Graduated from Klaipėda University with a degree in Family Studies. 2012 He defended his master’s degree in public administration at Kaunas University of Technology.

A.Norkienė has worked as a teacher at Tauragė Martynas Mažvydas high school, Tauragė “Versmės” gymnasium. This is the first term in the Seimas for Vytautas Mitalas, a member of the Seimas Freedom Faction. Vilnius, born in 1989 by V. Mitalas until his election to the Seimas from 2019. In April he was deputy mayor of Vilnius. He was elected to the Vilnius City Council in 2015.
V. Mitalas graduated with honors from the Vilnius Continent Gymnasium in Pašilaičiai. He earned a BA in Political Science and then a Master’s in Public Policy Analysis from the Institute of International Relations and Political Science, Vilnius University. During his studies, since 2008, he has been involved in the activities of political and non-governmental organizations.

He was president of the Vilnius Liberal Youth Organization, a member of the National Council for Youth Affairs and a member of the board of directors of the “Round Table” of the Vilnius Union of Youth Organizations.
V. Mitalas has worked in the Secretariat of the Liberal Movement and is an expert at the Free Market Institute of Lithuania.

ELTA recalls that last week the Seimas of the new mandate elected the president of the Seimas Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, its first conservative deputy Jurgis Razmas and the deputy of the Labor Party Andrius Mazuronis in the first session.

The Statute of the Seimas allows the President of Parliament to have a maximum of seven deputies.
