The number of COVID-19 cases in Mažeikiai district is increasing rapidly: medical services are already limited

The municipality announced this on Facebook on Saturday night.

“The situation in the area due to the coronavirus is becoming threatening; today almost 100 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified. They were not yet infected! 15 fevers entered the reception-emergency room.

The hospital filled both wards with COVID-19 and treated 45 patients. Another, a third, has been created to replace the Department of Surgery. SOS !!! ”Says the report.

According to the municipality, 9 people died from COVID-19 in almost two weeks after the treatment of COVID-19 patients in early November. Their average age was 59 to 60 years.

“How many more deaths will it take for us to realize that the disease is real and is among us, by our side, around us? Almost all the forces in the hospital – pediatrics, nerve diseases, psychiatry, surgery – are focused on treating COVID-19 patients. Medical services are already limited.

What are the predictions? Sad, scary. The virus spreads uncontrollably. If the numbers continue to grow at this rate, doctors will no longer be able to control the situation, it is possible that those who need it will not receive medical help, ”the municipality writes on Facebook.

Residents are asked to feel responsible, avoid contact, and better stay home.

“They are not the heads of government, nor the state, nor the municipality nor the medical institution, but we can overcome the virus and change the situation, meeting all security requirements and understanding our responsibilities.

It is not a coronavirus, do you think you will not get sick or have a mild form? Do you live as you do: go shopping, meet with friends or family, do not maintain a safe distance, do not wear or wear face protection properly, do not follow hand hygiene? You act irresponsibly and don’t feel responsible for yourself or others. Change your attitude! Please, everyone: the fewest possible contacts, the fewest possible outputs. Let’s stay home! Let’s take care and take care! “Asks the municipality.

Last day, 1,531 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Lithuania. To date, the coronavirus has been identified in 33,387 people, of which 25,322 are still sick. Another 13 deaths have been reported.
