The Department of Prisons on Wednesday began an official inspection of the actions of the agents of the Marijampolė Penitentiary Center in the story of the murder of a prisoner.

News portal 15min.lt reported this week that the Kaunas Regional Court had sentenced 15-year-old inmate Lukas Lukoševičius, who had killed a prisoner, to 15 years in prison in early November.
According to the portal, EJ’s father, a 28-year-old Vilnius resident who was imprisoned in the Marijampolė correctional center, says that the correctional center staff created a favorable situation for the murder.

A spokeswoman for the Department of Prisons, Inga Mauricienė, told the 15min.lt portal that an inspection had already been carried out due to the actions of the agents, but that no violations had been identified during it.
