They also wore special hunting clothes, some waving the flags of their hunting circle.

When asked why they gathered here, a group of hunters said that it was not really just because they were against or behind the minister (Kęstutis Mažeikas – aut. Past), or, even more so, for archery than just they wanted to finally have. your side is heard.

“Yes, the bow is as powerful as any weapon and I don’t know if I would like to hunt it, because that hunting takes a long time, not everyone has it these days,” said one of the participants in the picket, “but for many, hunting it’s just a hobby, and I’d like to emphasize that the product of the hunt in the first place is meat and not a rally in front of or behind the hoops. But right in the face of all this scandal, we were too passive. “

The man next to him added that there are around 30 thousand hunters in all of Lithuania, and if you add the helpers, foresters, farmers and other related people, then it could be around 200 thousand. Lithuanian population.

“We also have to be tolerated, because we are really a big part of society and now we look at the attack in the media.” Imagine if you were attacked and threatened to deal with sexual or national minorities in this way, we don’t even talk about Jews. It is just horrible what we have had to experience. Understanding, in some relatives, hunting goes from generation to generation, just now there was a really inadequate reaction in society, “he said.

The hunter, who arrived at the picket, mentioned that the Baltic Wolf was actively spreading false information, was involved, according to him, in an attack and the ridicule of the hunters was called “ecotrol”.

“There will be no more nature than it was thousands of years ago, and the wildlife population will still have to be regulated in some way. We are also not against wolves, but we read what harm they do to farmers, ungulates can also harm. A society without hunters will not survive either, and here has simply caused a communication crisis. Perhaps we were closed and silent for too long, “he said.

When interviewed by other hunters gathered, they also claimed that they wanted to fight for their rights and that they no longer wanted to allow them to be humiliated in public. “Society also needs to know that we exist “ They said.

Delfi recalls that the order of Environment Minister Kęstutis Mažeika regarding hunting rules has not been revoked, he has been ordered to harmonize it before May 29.

On May 8, Environment Minister K. Mažeika amended some of the hunting rules with his signed order, and also allowed bow hunting starting in 2022. After public criticism and outrage, the article was removed from the document by a separate order, and Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis and conservationists asked the minister to cancel the “failed” document signed on May 8.

Conservationists say the minister’s order also allowed hunting of invasive beasts in the dark, the use of searchlights not only for wild boars, but also an extension of the badger hunting deadline and a ban on decoys in the area of 300 meters around nature reserves and other provisions.

The Minister of the Environment, K. Mažeika, has previously declared that he will suspend the entire order signed on May 8 regarding the modification of the Hunting Rules until other points modified by the document are discussed in the Hunting Council. The Hunting Advisory Council met to discuss the remaining points in the order that were discussed this Friday.

The scheduled end date for the reconciliation of the order signed on May 8 is May 29.
