The men who robbed the residents of the Kaunas district were arrested

On November 6, around 8:00 p.m., in the village of Dievogala, Kaunas district, two men knocked on the window and the door of the house, introduced themselves to the acquaintance of the owner of the house and, entering, demanded money from the two men of the house. Without receiving the cash, 3 trimmers withdrew from the robbery, causing 540 euros in damage, Kaunas County Police report.

On November 8, around 5 in the afternoon, in Ežerėlis, Kaunas district, when the woman did not enter the house, the man, entering through the window, threatened and demanded to hand over his money. After giving away 240 euros, the man retired.

November 9, both men were arrested in Ežerėlis, Kaunas district. One man (born 1993) previously convicted of similar crimes is suspected of having participated in both crimes, the other (born 1982) only on November 6.

Pre-trial investigations for theft have been initiated in accordance with article 180 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania. The men face up to seven years in prison. The issue of pretrial detention is being addressed.

The investigation is organized and directed by prosecutors from the Sixth Division of the Kaunas District Prosecutor’s Office.
