Karbauskis appreciated the challenges of the new government: the same problem will arise as for us

“When we came to power (ELTA in power 4 years ago), there were 58 in our faction, around 50 of them probably joined the Seimas for the first time. These were people who had no experience, for some the work of the Seimas It seemed very unlikely and they understood what it was about. But the experience has come over time, “R. Karbauskis told Knowledge Radio.

According to the leader of the “Peasants”, the newly elected Seimas is not very different from the previous one, because, according to him, a large number of members of the Seimas are also elected to parliament for the first time.

“There are also many new people coming, respectively, we are much better off in this case, because probably all of our people have that experience now, because only units that have worked in the Government or somewhere, but also have experience of political work,” he said. .

However, the politician emphasized that the new government, like the former rulers at the beginning of their term, will face the same problem: lack of experience.

“The next government will face the same problem that we had at the beginning, that it is necessary to use professionals to immediately guarantee quality decisions. And now the fact that the new Prime Minister said that there will not only be politicians but also professionals in this Government practically denies the propaganda that made fun of us inviting professionals to the Government, ”emphasized R. Karbauskis.

“Actually, it was only a few years later that we had grown up politicians to be able to work as ministers after committee chairs and the like, because they already had enough powers,” he added, stressing once again that new experienced governors will face many problems. .

The reforms that have been enacted over the past four years have been necessary

Ramūnas Karbauskis, the eldest of the Lithuanian Green and Peasant Union faction, says that all the reforms and laws passed by the rulers in the last four years were necessary and he doubted the new government would repeal them.

“The laws that were needed were passed (…). The ancient Seimas before us did not undertake any reforms or make any decisions. So when it came to the reforms that were being launched, what was necessary was practically accepted. And I doubt those reforms will be reversed, ”R. Karbauskis told Knowledge Radio on Wednesday.

He pointed out that it is one thing for the opposition to speak of the repeal of the approved laws, and quite another to do so, since this action would cause great public discontent.

“It is one thing to talk about being in the opposition, what the conservatives and liberals have done to oppose us abolishing everything, and quite another to make decisions. I have little idea of abolishing the money for the child or the pharmaceutical control conditions that we have set to make the prices of medicines one of the lowest in the EU. Because people will be immediately disappointed with the new government ”, he assured.

R. Karbauskis also emphasized that it was wrong to call certain decisions established by the former rulers as prohibitions, since they were supported by the majority of society.

“Speaking of those so-called bans, which the propaganda simply called: ask people what they mean when they talk about bans, they can’t answer. Because, for example, the ban on the advertising of alcoholic beverages was supported by the majority of the Lithuanian population (…). If it is revoked, it will be a clear instruction from the alcohol industry to the politicians who will now be in power, “he said.
