According to the meteorologist, last winter showed that there was no such rupture and that the real winter did not appear in Lithuania.

“Overall, last winter in Eastern Europe was one of the warmest during the entire observation period. It is difficult to answer whether this will be the case this winter, all the more so as to make long-term forecasts as the weather changes. becomes a tough challenge. So far, winter temperatures are likely to be higher than normal, although we may occasionally see intrusions of colder weather and snow. But again, those colder periods don’t last long. According to K. Petkevičius, if in the past there were several warmer weather invasions during the winter months, for some time now everything has changed: it was the colder weather invasions that became a rarer host, as well as the snow, which we hardly had last winter.

“There is a good chance that the beginning of this winter will be mild, which has already become quite common. However, we should also have colder periods in the short term. However, it is difficult to say if it will bring joy to those who wait at least some snow and lower temperatures. “

Speaking about November, the meteorologist said that the relatively warm weather marathon in Lithuania is still going on, and this week will not bring any cardinal changes.

“At night, the temperature will be between 3 and 9 degrees, and at sea, between 10 and 13 degrees. In many places, visibility on the roads at night and in the morning will be reduced by the prevailing fog. the day, the weather will warm to 8-14 degrees, ”he commented.

K. Petkevičius noted that in the coming days the sky will often be cloudy, with little rain at intervals, and few areas of the country will receive clear weather. Winds from the west and southwest will also increase in the western part of the country, and will be stronger on Thursday, at which time the country is expected to have gusts of 10-15, by sea of ​​16-20 meters per second.
