Negotiators from the TS-LKD and the two liberal parties presented the text of the coalition agreement in the Seimas on Thursday night, and later made it public.

After the meeting, the conservative candidate for Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė announced that the negotiations were almost over, the parties were left with the last blows and finally the signatures.

“The parties must return <...> to its governing bodies to obtain approval of this Agreement. It will be here in the next few days. And if some unforeseen circumstances do not arise, and we would like to hope that they do not arise <...>“It is possible that the agreement will be signed on Monday,” the politician told reporters at Seimas.

The contract could be signed on Monday.

In the agreement, according to I. Šimonytė, we will only see her own name: the future prime minister. And what specifically in him, the politician did not name, although he assured that each party gained something in the negotiations.

“It just came to our attention then. Probably the state won more than that, in general, we were able to agree on what is more important in the near future, what is more important in the medium term, where there may be positions that were in the programs of some games but not in the programs of other parties, ”said I. Šimonytė.

For liberals, the results are victory

Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, president of the Liberal Movement, called the agreement “a good compromise”. He also did not go into the details of the content, but assured us that we would also find specific commitments in the document.

“Today, I see this as a victory for everyone, for all coalition partners, because our goal is to make people more respected in four years, to be more independent, to have more opportunities, more rights,” said V. Čmilytė -Nielsen.

Later on Facebook, he was a bit more specific, listing which Liberal Movement initiatives were included in the coalition agreement. These include a gender neutral association, candidacy for Seimas from age 21, ratification of the Istanbul Convention by Seimas, reimbursement for “most needed, not cheapest” medicines, and more.

Aušrinė Armonaitė, leader of the Freedom Party, assured that we would see a relevant compromise in the agreement for the national minority.

“It happened that the coalition partners would do everything possible for personal names in Latin characters. That is in the text of the agreement,” he said.

In general, A. Armonaitė responded positively to the outcome of the negotiations: “From the position of the Freedom Party, I can say that the five priorities, which we have always publicized and are quite concrete, are in this agreement. We are extremely pleased with this and have heard that the coalition partners will do their best to support them. “

When asked if the Christian wing of TS-LKD will be satisfied with the outcome of the negotiations, I. Šimonytė hoped that they would.

“I hope that the negotiators of the Unión de la Patria have agreed and agreed on formulations with which all the participants of that coalition feel comfortable.” I’d like to believe that, “he said.
