“Up to 10 companies that I know of have moved now. I cannot say the exact number, “said R. Sinkevičius during the government hour in the Seimas on Thursday, answering the question of the liberal Simon Gentvilas.

“All neighboring countries are fighting for the relocation of IT companies to their countries from Belarus. I would say that now they are negotiating with about 80 companies of all sizes. It is gratifying to know that yesterday we received a message that one of their Larger companies with 600 employees would like to move to Lithuania and have already started the registration process ”, added the Minister.

According to him, it is currently difficult to open an account for these companies, but the situation will improve when the reform of the Public Limited Companies Law is approved.

“The registration process is complicated because the Law for the Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorism approved by Seimas is in force and it is difficult to open an account. (…) To solve this problem, the Government adopted a decision and submitted to the Seimas the modification of an article of the Public Limited Companies Law, which would allow the establishment of public limited companies not necessarily with bank accounts, but also in public institutions. electronic money. We are awaiting the decision of the Seimas, which would greatly facilitate the very process of relocating companies ”, said R. Sinkevičius.

According to the Minister, other processes related to the Department of Migration, the issuance of visas, the situation of temporary residence are resolved through government decisions.
