The law stipulates that a new political party registered after the Seimas elections, if it has a faction in the Seimas, will be allocated credits from the state budget.

The subsidies were calculated based on the results of the 2016 Seimas elections. As the head of the CEC pointed out, this was indicated by the Constitutional Court, which resolved the dispute over the subsidy for the second half of the electoral year.

Grants are paid twice a year, on April 15 and November 15 of each year.
