Virgis Valentinavičius, a political scientist at the Mykolas Romeris University (MRU), affirms that he does not rule out the scenario that G. Landsbergis is left without a political position in the Seimas or in the Government after the coalition negotiations.

The political scientist is convinced that G. Landsbergis’ decision to remain moderate and not run for long-term posts is beneficial not only for TS-LKD, but also for G. Landsbergis himself.

Landsberg himself may not be personally in office, the party’s position as a political force is strengthening. However, V. Valentnavičius believes that, in the current situation, the conservative president still has open opportunities both to hold the position of president of the Seimas and to run for the position of minister in some field.
“Everything is open, but it is important not to make mistakes and not want to be too much, too open,” concluded the MRU political scientist.
L. Bielinis: For G. Landsbergis it is very useful to strengthen his position as party president.
For his part, Lauras Bielinis, a professor at Vytautas Magnus University (Vytautas Magnus University), is convinced that the most important thing for G. Landsbergis at this time is to form a governing coalition and not pursue his personal ambitions.
