According to the website of the Lithuanian Music Information Center, F. Latėnas’ work, which exists outside the theater, is often an abstraction of the music played in performances. The composer himself tends to call his creative style post-realism or post-realism, the most striking feature of which is a special hypertrophy of states (joy, sadness, sarcasm, etc.). The harmony of the works is emphatically romantic, based on sequences of triads and sixth chords, sometimes even completely avoiding any dissonance.
